The Sustaining Power of Yiddish and Yiddishkeit:  A Conversation with Holocaust Survivors

Join us to discuss the nourishing & sustaining influence of Yiddish before the war, during the Shoah, and in the post-war period.

Featuring very special guest presenters

  • Ms. Ruth Glasberg Gold, Author of Ruth’s Journey: A Survivor’s Memoir
  • Mr. David Mermelstein, Activist and Advocate for the Survivor Community
  • Mr. Alex Gross, Author of Yankele: A Holocaust Survivor’s Bittersweet Memoir
  • Hosted by Professor Asher Milbauer, Founder and Director of the Exile Studies Program, Florida International University

Yiddish and Y’English will be spoken! Bagels and Lox will be served - Valet parking is available

The Betsy - South Beach hosts a monthly Breakfast Arts Salon. Yiddish, Y'English, and Spanish will be spoken at this event. Bagels and Lox are served courtesy of Jonathan Plutzik and Lesley Goldwasser, owners of The Betsy Hotel, with catering provided by LT Steak and Seafood, Laurent Tourondel, Executive Chef.
