The Betsy - South Beach and Jewish American and Holocaust Literature Conference present a special closing event with The Amernet String Quartet.
The Amernet Quartet presents: A Memorial for the Tree of Life, Pittsburgh
Featuring poet Geoffrey Philp reading his new poem, Shlomo's Return.
The Amernet Quartet plays a concert that includes Ravel's setting of the Kaddish, Zhitormorskii's Nigun, works by Schulhoff who perished in the Holocaust, and other works to honor both those that lost their lives in Pittsburgh, and those that live on to remember. The award-winning quartet (Jason Calloway, Misha Vitenson, Michael Klotz, and Franz Felkl) advocates for neglected works by composers of the Jewish diaspora, and plays the standard repertoire. The Amernet is the Chamber Ensemble in Residence at Florida International University.
The Betsy - South Beach is host hotel and principal sponsor of The Jewish American and Holocaust Literature Conference, held annually in Miami Beach. Additional support is provided by The Plutzik Goldwasser Family Foundation and The Betsy Community Fund at The Miami Foundation.
Sponsors: JAHLIT, The Betsy Hotel, PG Family Foundation, LT Steak & Seafood, The Alley, FIU Music, Books and Books, The Betsy Community Fund at The Miami Foundation, Yiddishkeit Initiative.
