The Betsy - South Beach and O, Miami present a poetry reading featuring Irish poets Tara Bergin, Julie Morrissy, and Paul Perry. Presented in partnership with Culture Ireland and Poetry Ireland. This event will be followed by a Wynwood Brewing Beer Tasting; a tasting of the Hemingway Daiquiri will also be served.
ABOUT THE POETS
Colette Bryce is a poet from Derry, Northern Ireland. She has published four poetry collections including The Full Indian Rope Trick(Picador, 2004) and Self-Portrait in the Dark(2008). Her latest, The Whole & Rain-domed Universe (2014), was awarded a special Ewart-Biggs Award in memory of Seamus Heaney. Selected Poems, drawing on all her books, is a Poetry Book Society Special Commendation, Summer 2017. She received the Cholmondeley Award for poetry in 2010.
Julie Morrissy is an Irish poet from Dublin and was named one of Poetry Ireland's "Rising Generation" poets for 2016. Her first collection Where, the Mile End is forthcoming with BookThug, Canada.
Paul Perry is the author of five collections of poetry, including Gunpowder Valentine: New and Selected Poems (Dedalus Press, 2014).
