Orange Island Review was established in 2014 as an imprint of the Orange Island Arts Foundation. Committed to fostering the talent in everyone in publishing established and emerging poets, Orange Island Review offers a medium through which high school students can gain recognition for their artistic ability and love for the written word.
The Betsy features high school poets from the Miami Dade County Public Schools, and poet/teacher Caridad Morro for a BBar celebration/release party for the 2015 Orange Island Review. Lunch will be served at this free event that honors one of the area’s leading high school literary magazines.
Special Guest Lisa Papademetriou, Betsy Writer's Room Writer in Residence - Presented at part of The Betsy Writers for Young Readers Program. Lisa Papademetriou is the author of numerous books for young readers, including Sixth-Grade Glommers, Norks, and Me; How to Be a Girly Girl in Just Ten Days; the Accidentally Fabulous series; and, most recently, the Confectionately Yours series.
Presented as part of National Poetry Month with support from the PG Family Foundation and The Betsy Community Fund at The Miami Foundation.
