IlluminArts will present internationally acclaimed tenor, Michael Slattery, in performance with the award winning Canadian baroque ensemble La Nef in January 2018 in the beautiful Gallery space at The Betsy Hotel. In 2012, Michael Slattery and La Nef released their Dowland in Dublin recording, which was hailed by Opera News as one of the 10 best recordings of 2012. A celebration of Dowland’s best music, this concert will feature arrangements created by the ensemble, along with Mr. Slattery’s sweet tenor, to take audiences on a Celtic journey. Michael Slattery has previously performed with the New York Philharmonic, Festival Aix-en-Provence, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, the Edinburgh Festival, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, to name a few. A highly sensitive performer, Mr. Slattery’s singing has been lauded by the New York Times as having, “sweet-toned tenderness,” and The American Record Guide raved, “Michael Slattery is a stunningly communicative actor and singer.
