ABOUT ABOUT

The Betsy Writer's Room welcomes Writer in Residence, Jennifer Grotz to Miami. Join us for a morning of candid conversation with this poet, translator and educator - a 2017 recipient of the Guggenheim Award.

ABOUT THE WRITER:
Jennifer Grotz is the author of three books of poetry, most recently Window Left Open. Also a translator from the French and Polish, her most recent translation is Rochester Knockings, a novel by Tunisian-born writer Hubert Haddad. Her poems, reviews, and translations have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The Nation, The New Republic, New York Review of Books, Ploughshares, New England Review, and in four volumes of the Best American Poetry anthology. Director of the Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference and assistant director of the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, she teaches at the University of Rochester.

The event is free to attend, but your RSVP is requested.

CULTURE BREAKS AT THE BETSY: Over the years, we have explored a variety of convening models  as part of our Writer’s Room Program: from Breakfast Salons and Luncheon Roundtables to formal and informal readings - all with lots of success.  This year we're exploring something brand new. We're proud to introduce The Betsy's Culture Break Artist Talks. This will be our lead creative convening model for the 2017-18 season, featuring visiting artists, as well as creatives from the greater Miami community.
